Welcome to The Beacon, a space perched on the Bellvue dome in Fort Collins, CO.

Here are all of the details of this project.
WHAT: The Beacon is a rustic space (yurt, tipi or straw bale cabin), heated by a wood stove, with 2 beds, no running water, and an outhouse.
We are buying the 1st structure from a local company: Colorado Yurt Company.

HOW: We want to create a community around The Beacon that attracts like-minded people that care about mental health, Nature, and just want to have access to this gateway for themselves and their friends. People can reserve by invitation only, either if they are a founder of The Beacon, or a friend of a founder.
2 options when you come to The Beacon:
You come on your own, for a moment of solitude in Nature by reserving on our calendar. A small suggested donation is recommended for us to maintain and clean the space between guests.
You want to maximize this retreat with personalized support. As a life coach, I will support you in fulfilling your intention, teaching you tools that work for you, and helping you connect to your inner wisdom, as I believe that all of our answers lie inside our bodies. The cost for this package depends on the length and work we do together.
WHEN: From the date we reach our goal of 30,000 USD for the cost of the material. We think that we can install it before this winter 2022. The provisional opening date is November 2022. If we can before open it before, we will. We will organize a work party to install it with the help of a few friends.
How much: We have 3 levels of participation : (1 stay = up to 3 nights)Level 1: $300 for 1 stay/year
Level 2: $500 for 2 stays/year
Level 3: $1,000 for 2 single-day events / year + level 2 + 1 stay per year for a friend
WHO is founding this project: The community of founders & friends are donating money to be able to purchase the material for the Structure.
This team is recognized with their name on the Welcoming note when you enter the Space.
Founders have access to the space in priority before any friends can be invited.
Upon opening, Level 3 will have a week to book their events & stay before anyone else
Then Level 2 can reserve their nights
Finally, Level 1.
After all founders have reserved their nights, Level 3 can invite friends to book.
Events at the Beacon must be related to Health & Wellness, Community building, and Nature awareness.
WHO will be welcome to use it: From the busy parents that are tired, to the person that needs a break in Nature, to the person that wants a moment alone to meditate, read, or unplug from the internet…. Anybody that needs to have a moment of solitude to reconnect with themselves. Be aware that this is not a place for a depressed person that needs professional support.
It is accessible by invitation only, from the founders of The Beacon
WHERE: Located in Laporte, CO, the Retreat space will be accessible after a short walk (6 min), installed in one of the coves of the cliff, it feels secluded. It has an amazing view of Watson Lake & the Bellvue dome. Our house is close by in case you need to take a shower or else.
WHY do I fundraise: To create a community of support & awareness around mental exhaustion and for people to feel that they can use this space whenever they need to, because they helped fund it. You really don’t have to be mentally exhausted, you might just want to escape from your kids for a night or two…
I think that this idea is born from the land, whispering in my ear that its purpose is to Heal and Support people. Definitely born from my own experience too, as a mother of 2 very active boys. ;-)
I know a lot of people that relate to this project and want to be part of something bigger for our community. If I were to finance it on my own, it would be “mine” and it’s not the purpose, the purpose is to serve our community and see what the community wants to create with it. Nowadays I feel that we are led to be more and more individualistic, while the real power of creation comes from exchanging with many people that have a common goal & needs.
Is it Tax deductible: because you are getting a service in exchange (access to nights in the space), it is not tax-deductible.
More details to figure out: We probably want to have visitors sign a document to provide a frame of what is accessible and what is not, define liabilities, and we want to find what system is best to reserve the space…. if you have any legal knowledge around these topics or organizational tools you recommend, we are open to them.
This is a community project, where we open up our land, agree to maintain the space, and we define the frame. Within this frame, every founder is welcome to participate & give ideas so that this project serves our community.
Level 1: $300 for 1 stay/year

After your investment in the kick starter, the suggested amount to cover for maintenance and cleaning is $60 / stay for individuals and couples; and a sliding scale per event gathering multiple people (depending on how many people showed up to your event).
The process:
When you donate money through Paypal or credit card, you enter your email, so that we can communicate when we are opening the Space, how to reserve and when we organize a party or a concert.
